A reminder to all customers and partners of your critical role in securing international trade, we ask that you assist government efforts by immediately reporting any potential terrorist-related concerns to the U.S. Customs & Border Protection.
The Department of Homeland Security recently stated that they have credible reports indicating that Al Qaeda is moving forward with plans to carry out a large-scale attack in the United States in an effort to disrupt our democratic process. Although the precise knowledge about time, place and method of the attack is still lacking, the information is believed to be serious and credible.
In order to minimize the potential impact of these activities on your business operations, we want to remind all participants to assist government efforts by being diligent in the following areas:
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of all manifest information submitted to Customs & Border Protection.
• All partners throughout the supply chain (e.g. foreign shippers, carriers, forwarders, etc.) ensure adherence to C-TPAT security procedures pertaining to the packing, loading, and sealing of all cargoes.
• Communicate with foreign manufacturers and vendors to increase security awareness.
• Be especially vigilant in screening any potential customers that request transportation and/or any other services involving unusual payment and/or delivery instructions.
• Communicate with foreign vendors, suppliers, and supply chain business partners to note any undue delays or unusual occurrences involving the movement of your goods.
• Be mindful of U.S. State Department country alerts located on the U.S. State Department's web site under Travel and Living Abroad? "Travel Warnings and Consular Information Sheets."
