As always, Star Asia strives to give you the best service and
most up to date information regarding the import freight industry.
Currently, the changes are happening in the airfreight sector, and
as per our previous announcement sent out last week, the airfreight
market has picked up tremendously. There is a backlog in most of the
major airports in Asia, to name just a few - Taipei, Incheon,
New Delhi, Mumbai, Madras, Shanghai, Karachi, and since today, OEC
Hong Kong announced backlog problems as well.
With the war between the USA and Iraq impending, some U.S.-based
freighter aircrafts are being used for military purpose. Hence, the air
cargo destined for the USA is getting piled up and airports are heavily
backlogged. Below are the basic things to keep in mind at this critical
time:
Air space is limited:
Therefore, any time you know of an upcoming large and urgent
airfreight shipment, please let us know as much in advance as
possible.
Transit times are getting longer:
Again, the more time we have to book the space with the airlines, the
better are the chances of getting the space and ETA's that you
need.
Airlines are increasing their rates:
We will try our best to keep your rates affordable and
up-to-date. Should you have any questions about the accuracy of
you rates, please do not hesitate to call us.
Please, let us know any of your questions and concerns. We will keep
sending you updates on further development of the current situation and
as always, will try to do all in our power to expedite and keep your
cargo moving.
